Fall 2026 Rural Schools Connection Day

Calling all education majors—freshmen to seniors! Whether you’re just starting your journey, preparing for student teaching, or searching for your first position, Rural Schools Connection Day, on September 22nd,  is your chance to explore the opportunities in rural education.

This fun and engaging event brings together passionate future educators like you with welcoming representatives from rural school districts across the region. It’s more than just networking, it’s a unique opportunity to build meaningful professional connections, learn what makes rural schools special, and discover how you can grow your career while making a lasting impact in welcoming rural communities.

Event Details:

• Location: Lovinger 2600 (Hough Education and Counseling Center)
• Student Check-in: 8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

Here’s what to expect:

• A rotating format where you’ll visit with multiple districts in small groups, giving you the chance to hear from each district directly.
• Lunch with school representatives, where you can continue conversations in a relaxed, friendly setting;
• Insight into career opportunities, student teaching placements, and the day-to-day joys of rural teaching;
• A welcoming atmosphere designed just for education students like you!

Important note:

A formal letter of participation will be provided to those who register for this event. Please share this letter with your instructors so that you may be excused from classes you may miss while attending. Attendance will be taken at the event and shared with course instructors.
